Welcome to Oregonians for Renewable Energy Progress
OREP's Mission: Advancing the transition to locally-owned and locally-generated clean renewable energy.
OREP's Vision for a sustainable, decentralized energy future:
How we get from here to there:
Extraction of fossil fuels is becoming increasingly expensive and damaging to the earth. At the same time, ample renewable resources are available to meet human needs for comfort, transportation, and commerce.
A transition is required from the old ways of thinking and “business as usual” to a new sustainable prosperity. Successful policies that deploy renewable energy benefit our communities by creating jobs and a strong economy.
OREP engages citizens, educating about and advocating for policies that promote distributed renewable generation, open the energy market to many new participants, and create family-wage jobs in a thriving economy.
